Bonnie Barr (F.B.A.T.D)

Principal

Bonnie has spent her life involved in dance and was awarded not 1 but 3 prestigious Carl Alan Awards, closely followed by the Classiques Award for Services to Dance. She has choreographed routines for the Film Industry, T.V. and variety shows lectured all over the U.K. and abroad. Bonnie is an examiner of the B.A.T.D. and delegate on The British Dance Council for The B.A.T.D. She has trained World and British Champions in the freestyle branches and is more than happy to pass on her expertise in dance to her Dancedreams pupils. Her creative ability for new and exciting ideas has been a huge asset to our Commercial teams.

Sharron Barr (M.B.A.T.D)

Principal

Before becoming a full-time dance teacher, Sharon started her career as a nurse, however after living in Canada for a few years the lure and love of the family business brought her back to the fold. She has been involved in various T.V. productions and has appeared on the original Come Dancing series alongside Bonnie. Sharon is also in charge of our teacher training courses, her expertise lies within the Theatre branches although her roots are through her Ballroom and Latin-American training which she still shares a huge passion for. She thrives on technique & is a total perfectionist in all classes, especially Commercial & Stage.

Ashleigh Barr (M.B.A.T.D)

Principal

Ashleigh is Sharon’s daughter and has danced since she could walk. She has a super knowledge in all branches of dance, her cheography skills are in high demand and she travels all over the country doing workshops and lectures. Ashleigh spent a season in New York studying dance in Broadway and secured a wealth of knowledge from this. In recent years Ashleigh was awarded ‘Young Teacher of Year Award’ from the A.D.F.P and the very prestigious Carl Alan Award for ‘Freestyle Teacher of The Year’. She is heavily involved in the Commercial side of teaching and just lives for her pupils. She always takes that step beyond the call of duty as a designer for most of our outfits and a super make-up & hair artist.

Hayley Johnston (A.B.A.T.D)

Teacher

Hayley is Bonnie’s daughter and started dancing at Dancedreams at 18 months old. Hayley received her BATD teaching qualification in 2014 and then went onto train at Laine Theatre Arts & The Urdang Academy in London gaining a 1st class Honours Degree and pursuing her lifelong dream & career in Musical Theatre. Whenever Hayley has time off from performing, she enjoys nothing better than coming back to Dancedreams to teach and passes on her wealth of knowledge from the industry.

Courtney McClure (A.B.A.T.D)

Teacher

Courtney is Sharon’s middle daughter and has been performing since she was one. She has trained in all branches of dance and is extremely passionate, bringing great enthusiasm to all of our classes. Courtney went onto University where she achieved a BSc Honours Degree in Sports Coaching and is currently undertaking a course in Neuro-Linguistics Programming which will further benefit the development of our pupils in training.

Carly McClure (A.B.A.T.D)

Teacher

Carly is Sharon’s youngest daughter and has been dancing since she could walk. Carly excelled in her competitive years winning numerous titles and since 2014 has become a valued member of our teaching staff.

Kourtney Lee (A.B.A.T.D)

Teacher

Kourtney started dancing at age 5 and after an extremely successful competitive career in dance, she has moved on to join the teaching staff at Dancedreams. As a homegrown pupil, Kourtney has trained in all branches of dance and understands completely how we nurture and progress our students. She has amazing energy and her passion for dance is clearly shown through her teaching.

Ashley Bradley (A.B.A.T.D)

Teacher

Ashley is a valuable member of our teaching staff. Ashley has also had a successful freestyle competitive career and trained in the theatre branches before turning professional with Dancedreams. She is a very popular teacher with our pupils & parents alike. She is in big demand when it comes to her individual style & flare, she is passionate about all styles of dance.

Danielle Miller (A.B.A.T.D)

Teacher

Danielle joined Dancedreams as a pupil age 6. She worked her way through the ranks and was a dedicated dancer who was also a member of our senior commercial team. She qualified and went on to become a teacher in 2014 and is now a very valued member of the Falkirk & Bainsford teaching staff.

Rachel Henderson (A.B.A.T.D)

Teacher

Rachel fell in love with dancing when she joined Dancedreams over 10 years ago. Since then, she has trained in all styles of dance and qualified as a dance teacher in 2019. Rachel has a passion for dance and loves working with children at all ages, watching them flourish to become talented, enthusiastic individuals. At the moment, Rachel is also working towards achieving a BA Honours degree in Business and Management however still holds the same dedication to dance as she did all those years ago.

Shannon Higgins

Teacher

Shannon first started ballet as an associate of Scottish Ballet working her way up from Junior to Mid and finally Senior Associates. She also danced with Royal Conservatoire of Scotland on the Junior course before receiving the Veronica Bruce Memorial Dance Trust scholarship to train professionally on the theatre dance degree course at London Studio Centre, specialising in classical ballet. Whilst in full time training, Shannon performed in LSC’S Dance Overture at Wimbledon Theatre for two consecutive years and then joined Images Ballet Company in her final year to tour the UK. She worked with various established choreographers, completing the tour at the prestigious Sadler’s Wells in London. Since graduating with a first-class BA (Hons) degree, Shannon has become a qualified STOTT Pilates instructor and enjoys the relationship of applying Pilates to ballet technique.
